MEET THE CREW

ROBIN JOHNSTON

CO-DIRECTOR, CINEMATOGRAPHER & WRITER

Director, Cinematographer and Writer Robin Johnston was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario. Robin's venture into the art of filmmaking began at a young age, initially flourishing as a hobby amongst him and his friends. However, during his time in high school, Robin began to pursue a specialist high skills major in communications technology. It was within this area of study that film, something that had begun as little more than a hobby, became a passion and an aspiration.

With an artistic drive and a desire to tell unconventional and unique stories, Robin Johnston now studies at Sheridan College within the Bachelor of Film and Television Production program. Drawing inspiration from the works of Edgar Wright, Wes Anderson and Christopher Nolan, Robin has carved out a style of direction that is quirky, dark, and hugely dependant on music.

CAMERON THORPE

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Cameron is a 22 year old Sheridan College student in the Film and Television Program. He is the Assistant Director for Milo. Months ago, when Cameron heard the pitch for Milo and Pink Regret, he was immediately sold. So much so that he approached Robin immediately after he pitched it, and insisted upon working for him. Cameron was equally excited and nervous to take on such a project because he had never done a music video, but did so with intense dedication and commitment regardless. Cameron loves the film process and enjoys challenges, even when he bites off more than he can chew. He has a passion for bringing people together. And no matter how frustrating it may be, he always finds himself falling in love with the art of film.

JAKE HOWARD

PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Oh boy, where do I begin?

I suppose my tale begins upon one September day in 1996, when a failed nuclear experiment resulted in me being brought into the world. As a young lad, I always had a fond interest in storytelling. I could always be found reading books, watching TV, movies, and playing video games, all in an effort to expand my ever growing imagination. Whilst my drawing skills were (and still are) complete and utter garbage, I took to writing as a way to express myself artistically, coming up with all sorts of weird, action packed adventures. As the years went on, I became enamoured with the world of cinema, and sought to pursue the ways of the screenwriter under the guiding hand of Sheridan College. Now in my third year of their Bachelor of Film and Television program, my skills have continued to develop, as I now find myself delving further into the creation of on-screen worlds via production design.
